An ankle injury could keep Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Matt Doherty out of the weekend's match against Huddersfield Town.

Wolverhampton Wanderers could be without Matt Doherty for Saturday's encounter against fellow strugglers Huddersfield Town.

The 21-year-old has picked up an ankle injury and manager Dean Saunders has conceded that he does not know when the defender will be fit enough to return to action.

"Doherty might not be fit for Saturday. He rolled his ankle, which is swollen. We're waiting on it to see if the swelling goes down," he is quoted as saying by the Express & Star.

Should Doherty fail to make the Huddersfield match, Kevin Foley has been tipped to deputise in his place.
