Dieter Hecking insists that he won't set up his Wolfsburg side to play defensively against Bayern Munich on Friday.

Wolfsburg coach Dieter Hecking has insisted that his side will not sit back and defend when the league leaders Bayern Munich visit on Friday evening.

Hecking has urged his players to "defend from the front" if they are to stand any chance of a result against the potential Bundesliga champions.

"The probable German champions will arrive on Friday, but we will not put up 11 defenders," Hecking told Bild.

"If you let the Bavarians play at their own pace they will punish you. You have to defend from the front."

Wolfsburg are currently 12th in the league with 26 points.
