Preview: Wigan Athletic vs. Ipswich Town

Sports Mole previews this weekend's Championship encounter between Wigan Athletic and Ipswich Town.

Wigan Athletic return to Championship matters this weekend following their first match in Europe in their 81-year history when they take on Ipswich Town at the DW Stadium.

The Latics picked up a point in their Europa League group match, courtesy of a goalless draw with Zulte Waregem, but Owen Coyle's men face a league side this weekend that are unbeaten in their last three games.

There are two points separating the clubs in the table, with Wigan taking eight points from their last six encounters, while Mick McCarthy's side head into this Sunday's match on the back of a 2-1 win over Yeovil Town.

Shaun Maloney is likely to return to the starting lineup for Wigan after he was rested by Coyle in midweek, while Ben Watson could also be added to the team.

For the Tractor Boys, winger Paul Anderson faces a late fitness test on a groin strain, while Daryl Murphy could retain his place in the starting lineup.
