Wigan Athletic midfielder Ben Watson returns to training following a three-month absence with a broken leg.

Wigan Athletic midfielder Ben Watson has returned to training following three months out with a broken leg.

The 27-year-old was expected to miss the rest of the season when he suffered the problem during the Latics' Premier League defeat at Liverpool in November.

"He is already on the grass, and that is something we didn't expect until probably the end of March," manager Roberto Martinez told reporters.

"I will be very surprised if he doesn't get at least one or two games before the season finishes."

Wigan host Liverpool at the DW Stadium in the league on Saturday.
