Team News: Nick Powell misses out on starting lineup for Wigan Athletic

Wigan Athletic boss Paul Joyce brings Gary Roberts into his starting lineup to face Southampton, while the Saints show two changes from their last outing.

Gary Roberts has been brought back into Wigan Athletic's starting lineup for the FA Cup quarter-final tie against Southampton, taking over from the injured Nick Powell.

Powell limped off in the midweek win over Bradford City and is only deemed fit enough for a place among the home side's subs.

Wigan are otherwise unchanged from that late 1-0 victory on Wednesday, with Devante Cole, James Vaughan and Donervon Daniels all cup-tied.

Will Grigg, who knocked out favourites Manchester City with his goal in the last round, leads the line for Wigan as they go in search of a fourth Premier League scalp in this year's competition.

In terms of the visitors, Mark Hughes has made two changes for his first game in charge of the Saints, bringing in Manolo Gabbiadini and Sofiane Boufal from the 3-0 loss to Newcastle United.

Nathan Redmond and James Ward-Prowse are the two players to make way for a Southampton side competing at the quarter-final stage for the first time since 2004-05.

There is a place in the visitors' squad for Maya Yoshida following seven weeks out injured, meanwhile, but both Charlie Austin and Steven Davis sit this one out with hamstring complaints.

Wigan Athletic: Walton; Byrne, Elder, Dunkley, Burn; Morsy, Power; Massey, Roberts Jacobs, Grigg
Subs: Jones, Perkins, Bruce, Colclough, Hunt, Powell, Fulton

Southampton: McCarthy; Cedric, Stephens, Hoedt, Bertrand; Boufal, Lemina, Hojbjerg, Tadic; Gabbiadini, Carrillo
Subs: Forster, Yoshida, Long, Romeu, Ward-Prowse, Redmond, Sims
