Pogba: 'We must regain winning mentality'

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba urges his side to regain their winning mentality following a third successive Premier League draw.

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has urged his side to rediscover their winning mentality following their 0-0 draw with Southampton at Old Trafford this evening.

Jose Mourinho's side were held to a third consecutive Premier League stalemate and a fourth successive match without a win across all competitions as they failed to find a way past the out-of-form Saints.

Pogba pointed out a penalty appeal against Southampton's Maya Yoshida which was not given by referee Craig Pawson as a potentially game-changing moment, but admits that his side were not good enough in the final third either.

"We wanted to win today, but we could only get the draw. We need to get back in the winning mentality, because it will be better for all of us," he told reporters.

"We didn't have the final pass today, and we had a penalty that wasn't given, and if we had that, and scored, it would've changed the game.

"The pressure is coming from behind, but we have to forget about everyone else, and focus on ourselves."

The draw leaves United now third in the Premier League table, and they could now go into 2018 trailing leaders Manchester City by 17 points.
