West Ham United in pole position to sign Queens Park Rangers' Charlie Austin?

West Ham United reportedly edge ahead of Newcastle United in the chase for Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin.

West Ham United have reportedly become the favourites to sign Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin this summer.

Newcastle United were thought to be leading the chase following the arrival of new manager Steve McClaren.

However, according to the Daily Star, Austin is leaning towards the Hammers as new boss Slaven Bilic has argued that the future move to the Olympic Stadium indicates how the club is growing.

Reports have claimed that QPR are holding out for a bid in the region of £15m for Austin, who has also been linked to Southampton, Aston Villa and Liverpool.
