Ex-West Ham United defender Razvan Rat joins Rayo Vallecano

Former West Ham United defender Razvan Rat completes his move to Spanish club Rayo Vallecano on a free transfer, according to reports.

Former West Ham United defender Razvan Rat has completed his move to Spanish club Rayo Vallecano on a free transfer, reports have suggested.

The 32-year-old has joined the relegation-threatened La Liga side on a short-term contract until the end of the season, according to talkSPORT.

Rat, who has been capped 92 times for Romania, started out at Rapid Bucharest before moving to Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk in 2003, where he won seven league titles and the Europa League.

The full-back moved to Upton Park last summer and made 20 appearances in all competitions for the Hammers before being released by the Premier League club at the start of February.
