Second-placed West Ham United were held at home by the Championship's bottom side Bristol City at Upton Park this evening.
The Hammers dominated for large periods but were unable to find a way past David James in the Robins' goal.
The former England keeper made several saves with perhaps the best chance falling to defender James Tomkins who headed straight at James from a Mark Noble free kick.
Young forward Freddie Sears did manage to find a way past James in the 21st minute but his shot cannoned off the upright.
West Hamremain second, a point clear of Middlesbrough, while the visitors climb off the bottom, moving up to 23rd.
