West Ham United to ban supporters singing anti-semitic chants

West Ham United announce that any fans indulging in discriminatory chants against Tottenham Hotspur will be banned from attending matches.

West Ham United have announced that supporters will be banned from attending matches if they take part in anti-semitic chanting against Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend.

The Metropolitan Police announced yesterday that fans could be arrested if the word 'Yid' is used in any songs on the terraces from either set of supporters.

West Ham have made their stance on the issue known by saying: "The club, along with the Metropolitan Police, will continue to adopt a zero tolerance policy towards any form of discriminatory behaviour this year and any fan found to be acting inappropriately, including racist, anti-semitic and homophobic behaviour, will be punished to the full extent of the law and banned from attending matches."

The two sides will go head to head at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
