West Ham United 'close to naming new manager'

Jack Sullivan, the son of West Ham United co-chairman David Sullivan, reveals that a new manager will be appointed 'within the next 48 hours'.

West Ham United are hopeful of concluding their search for a new manager within the next two days.

The Hammers parted company with Sam Allardyce last month following a disappointing second half to the campaign.

David Gold revealed on Sunday that the club are seeking an "experienced" name to take over at Upton Park, while Jack Sullivan - the son of fellow co-chairman David Sullivan - has now announced that an appointment is close to being made.

Marcelo Bielsa and Slaven Bilic are among the frontrunners to take over, as West Ham aim to improve on their 12th-place finish in the Premier League last season.

Meanwhile, Sullivan also hinted that a "major player" could arrive later this week.
