West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce has revealed that striker Andy Carroll could make his return from injury against Manchester United next week.
The 23-year-old, who is on loan at Upton Park from Liverpool this season, has been out of action since the end of November with a knee injury but is close to making his comeback alongside midfielder Mohamed Diame for the Hammers' FA Cup third-round replay against United.
"I think Andy Carroll and Momo Diame will be very close to making the replay," Allardyce told the club's official website.
West Ham were close to securing a place in the fourth round of the competition until Robin van Persie secured a late 2-2 draw for the Red Devils.
