Slaven Bilic "proud" of players after Manchester City draw

West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic reveals that he was "proud" of his players after they secured a 2-2 draw with Manchester City.

West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has insisted that he was not too disappointed to only draw 2-2 with Manchester City.

The Hammers twice led Manuel Pellegrini's team and conceded a second goal during the closing stages, but Bilic has revealed that he was "proud" of his team's efforts as they produced a positive response to losing 2-1 to Newcastle United last weekend.

The 47-year-old told BBC Sport: "It was a great game of football. I'm so proud of our team and Man City. There was everything in it. Four goals, chances, yellow cards and a penalty.

"We were a little bit disappointed, but I said to the players they shouldn't be. But if you are disappointed after playing Man City then that's good. We defended well and created many chances."

West Ham remain in sixth position in the Premier League standings but they have slipped six points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.
