The Football Association has confirmed that it will investigate an incident from West Bromwich Albion's FA Cup tie with Reading in which an object was thrown at Chris Brunt from the stands.
The Baggies squandered a one-goal lead at the Madejski Stadium to eventually fall to a 3-1 defeat, sending them crashing out of the FA Cup at the last-16 stage.
Afterwards, Brunt claimed that he had been hit by a coin thrown from the away section of the stadium after the match, labelling the actions of those responsible as 'disgusting'.
The FA has now confirmed that it is looking into the incident, in addition to "crowd disturbances" in the West Brom end during the encounter.
"The FA is investigating the incident in which an object was thrown at Chris Brunt at the end of the Reading v West Brom game, as well as the crowd disturbances in the away section of the stadium," read a statement from the official FA Twitter page.
"We strongly condemn any such behaviour and will work with both clubs and the authorities to identify those responsible."
All of Reading's goals came in the final half-hour as Paul McShane, Michael Hector and Lucas Piazon all scored to send the Royals through to the quarter-finals.
