Watford manager Roy Hodgson has revealed that Joao Pedro has been helping him communicate with certain players in the squad.
New signing Samir has been getting his communication from the boss via his teammate, who is helping out around the club during training sessions and in meetings.
"I have been impressed by his intelligence and by the fact that he is mature enough to take on that role. With Samir, when we split the squad it is good just to put those two together so Joao Pedro can whisper to make certain everything being said is understood," Hodgson told the press.
"We do the same thing with one or two of the French-speaking people who maybe at the moment still feel they need more time to improve their English. In the meetings, we have someone sitting alongside them to make sure the translation is there."
Pedro has featured 18 times in the Premier League so far, scoring twice this season, as the Hornets currently sit 19th in the division.
Watford will be back in action on Sunday when they face Arsenal in the Premier League.
