Gabriel Tamas facing prolonged spell on sidelines

Watford's Gabriel Tamas is to miss "a number of months" after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament against Bournemouth last weekend.

Watford defender Gabriel Tamas has been ruled out for the majority of the season with a severe knee injury.

The 30-year-old, who has featured nine times for the Hornets since joining from Doncaster Rovers in the summer, suffered a rupture to his anterior cruciate ligament during Saturday's 1-1 draw against Bournemouth.

A statement on the club's official website revealed that Tamas will be sidelined for "a number of months" as he recovers and regains his fitness.

Watford are currently fourth in the Championship table.
