Alain Casanova: "It was a deserved win"

Alain Casanova says that his Toulouse players "showed superiority" over a faltering Marseille team.

Alain Casanova has said that his Toulouse players "showed superiority" over a faltering Marseille team.

A second-half strike from Aymen Abdennour secured victory at the Stade Velodrome, which boosted le Tef's chances of sneaking into a European spot.

Casanova revealed after the game that he was pleased with his side's performance and said that they were deserved winners.

"Without wanting to sound pretentious, we showed a certain superiority tonight," said the 50-year-old.

"Tactically, we were very solid and we didn't let them play their game. I liked the way we played. It was a deserved win."

Toulouse have now won their last three games and sit fifth in the Ligue 1 table.
