Stuart Pearce hails Olympic experience

Team GB boss Stuart Pearce says that it has been an "honour" to be a part of the Olympics.

Team GB boss Stuart Pearce has revealed that "the experience has been fantastic" despite their elimination at the quarter-finals of the Olympics on Saturday.

Team GB were knocked out of the competition with a 5-4 penalty loss to South Korea, but Pearce believes that the experience will stand his players in good stead.

"The experience has been fantastic and all the individuals who contributed go back to their clubs and countries better for it. I'm very proud of my players and what we have achieved in the four-week period we have been together," Pearce told the BBC.

"It has been an honour for me to be part of the Olympic movement. If we brought more people to football under the umbrella of the Olympics then it has been a successful venture."

South Korea will face Brazil in the semi-finals.
