Blackpool boss Paul Ince says that the club are close to signing Swindon Town defender Paul Caddis.

Blackpool boss Paul Ince has revealed that the club are close to signing Swindon Town defender Paul Caddis.

The 25-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Birmingham City, is regarded as one of the best defenders in League One.

"I think Paul is a very good player. He showed that during his time at Birmingham last year. He gets up and down the park well," Ince told the Blackpool Gazzette.

"It's nice to know we have a fee agreed, even if we are a little bit away from sorting personal terms at the moment. There are one or two little things to sort out."

A number of Championship clubs are also believed to be monitoring proceedings.
