Malky Mackay: 'Cardiff City closing in on Thomas Ince'

Cardiff City boss Malky Mackay claims that the club are close to signing Blackpool's Thomas Ince.

Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay has claimed that the club are close to signing Blackpool winger Thomas Ince.

The 21-year-old's father, Paul Ince, revealed on Sunday that the Seasiders had accepted a bid for the player.

Mackay is hopeful that the deal will go through soon.

"We've had a bid accepted. Tom's been on holiday and we're going to be talking to him in the next couple of days," he told talkSPORT.

"It's something that we're very keen to push forward. He's a very young exciting player.

"He needs to play football and that's something his father and I both realise."

Ince scored 18 goals in 47 appearances for Blackpool last season.
