Team News: Gustav Svensson replaces Sebastian Larsson in Sweden midfield

Gustav Svensson replaces Sebastian Larsson in Sweden's midfield from their only change to the side that beat Mexico, while Switzerland make four alterations.

Sweden manager Janne Andersson has given the nod to Gustav Svensson to start this afternoon's World Cup last-16 tie against Switzerland in St Petersburg.

In the absence of suspended midfielder Sebastian Larsson, who picked up his second yellow card of the tournament in the 3-0 win over Mexico last week, Seattle Sounders ace Svensson is preferred to Oscar Hiljemark.

The enforced introduction of Svensson for Larsson is the first change made by Andersson in two matches, having used the same XI against Germany and Mexico.

Sweden include Andreas Granqvist in their starting lineup alongside Victor Lindelof, meanwhile, despite the centre-back's wife being due to give birth today.

In terms of the Swiss XI, Vladimir Petkovic has made four alterations on the back of his side's 2-2 draw with Costa Rica, including a couple of changes at the back.

Fabian Schar and skipper Stephan Lichtsteiner are serving one-game bans, so in come Johan Djourou and Michael Lang, while Steven Zuber replaces Breel Embolo.

Switzerland, who have netted just one knockout-round goal at a major tournament since 1954, go with Josip Drmic up top as Haris Seferovic and Mario Gavranovic have failed to impress, with the latter dropping out here.

Sweden: Olsen; Lustig, Lindelof, Granqvist, Augustinsson; Claesson, Svensson, Ekdal, Forsberg; Berg, Toivonen
Subs:

Switzerland: Sommer; Lang, Djourou, Akanji, Rodriguez; Behrami, Xhaka; Shaqiri, Dzemaili, Zuber; Drmic
