Michel Vorm to stay at Swansea City

Swansea City's Michel Vorm does not feel that the arrival of fellow goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianksi means that he will leave.

Swansea City goalkeeper Michel Vorm has confirmed that he expects to stay at the Premier League club in the wake of the signing of former Arsenal stopper Lukasz Fabianski.

Vorm said that he was unaware Swansea were going to sign another goalkeeper, but welcomed the increased competition for a starting spot in the lineup.

"I didn't know they were planning to sign him, I can honestly tell you," Sky Sports News quotes Vorm as saying. "At Swansea City I can see the club is growing and there is competition for everyone, and that also applies to me.

"Fabianski was a free agent, which I understood, and he has signed for four years and the present situation is that I will be there after the summer, so I have competition.

"It may be that Swansea are already responding to my departure but then there must be [an offer]. As long as that is not the case, Fabianski and I will have to fight. I do not necessarily have to leave."

Vorm signed for Swansea in 2011 from FC Utrecht.
