Report: Michu asks Swansea City for free transfer

Michu, who scored 22 goals for Swansea City during the 2012-13 season, is reportedly speaking to officials at the club to see if he can be released from his contract.

Swansea City striker Michu has asked the Welsh club if he can be granted a free transfer, according to reports.

The 29-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Napoli, is said to be pining for a return to Spanish football.

According to The Mirror, Michu is on the radar of Granada and Rayo Vallecano, but neither would be able to afford both his wages and a transfer fee for the player.

The one-cap Spain international scored 22 goals in his debut season at the Liberty Stadium.
