Francesco Guidolin talks up possible Swansea City move for Alberto Paloschi

Swansea City head coach Francesco Guidolin admits his interest in signing Alberto Paloschi and talks up the attributes of the 'Premier League-suited' Chievo man.

Swansea City head coach Francesco Guidolin has lauded the attributes of Alberto Paloschi as he tries to finalise a deal for the Chievo striker.

Guidolin, who recently took over in South Wales, knows 26-year-old Paloschi from his time in Serie A and the two worked together at Parma.

It was reported last night that an £8m fee had been agreed with Chievo for the former Italy Under-21 international, and Guidolin was asked about the potential move in his first pre-match news conference as Swans boss this afternoon.

He told reporters: "Paloschi was my player when we worked together at Parma. He was a promising player. He is a good player, a good guy. I think he is important for us and can help the team to have results and score many goals, I hope.

"I think he's a modern player. He can play well in the Premier League because he is strong."

A new striker seems to be Swansea's top priority in the final four days of the transfer window, with Crystal Palace's Dwight Gayle reportedly also targeted by the Premier League strugglers.
