Swansea City boss Garry Monk unsure if Leon Britton will be given game time

Swansea City boss Garry Monk suggests that Leon Britton will struggle for game time this season.

Swansea City manager Garry Monk has suggested that Leon Britton will spend more time on the bench than on the pitch this season.

The midfielder has held talks with an MLS club regarding a potential move.

However, the 32-year-old returned to captain the side to a pre-season 1-1 draw with Reading last Friday.

"Playing in this squad is difficult because we have good midfielders and with Leon we have seven midfielders when ideally you want six," Wales Online quotes Monk as saying.

"How I juggle that we'll see but I'm open and honest with them so they all know where they stand, but at the same time things can change very quickly."

Britton joined the Swans from Sheffield United in 2011.
