Swansea City's Neil Taylor: 'Deportivo La Coruna test is just what we need'

Swansea City's Neil Taylor says that a pre-season friendly against Deportivo La Coruna is just the test that the players need ahead of the new Premier League season.

Swansea City full-back Neil Taylor has claimed that facing Deportivo La Coruna in a final pre-season friendly will be a good test for the players ahead of the new Premier League season.

Garry Monk's side will play La Liga opposition on Saturday at the Liberty Stadium before they switch focus to their opening league game against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on August 8.

During their pre-season schedule, Swansea, who are yet to be beaten, have faced Borussia Monchengladbach, 1860 Munich, Reading and Nottingham Forest.

Ahead of this weekend's friendly, Taylor told the club's official website: "We've had a really good workout in each of our friendly matches, and Saturday will be no different.

"Our last pre-season game is always a real tough one. In the past we've had Stuttgart, Villarreal and now Deportivo - they are the type of games that we need. Deportivo will provide a big challenge, and it will be a really good game to have ahead of the first game."

The Swans finished eighth in the league last season.
