Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam has urged teammate Asmir Begovic to remain at the club following speculation of a potential transfer to Manchester United.
Some reports in the press have suggested that Louis van Gaal may take a look at the Bosnia and Herzegovina stopper should David De Gea depart for Real Madrid in the summer window.
"I think he could stay but it's his decision on the situation. He has a year to go at the club," Adam told talkSPORT.
"The club aren't going to be stupid and they aren't going to let his contract run down. That's not going to happen, definitely not, because they have a value there.
"He obviously wants to play at the highest level in the Champions League and he's got a big decision to make."
Stoke finished in ninth place in the Premier League last season.
