Danish goalkeeper Jakob Haugaard has completed his move to Stoke City.
The stopper, who has arrived for an undisclosed fee, made 24 appearances this season for FC Midtjylland as they secured the Danish Superliga title with two matches to spare.
Now, the 23-year-old has agreed a three-year contract at the Britannia Stadium, which is likely to intensify speculation regarding Asmir Begovic's future at the club.
"We are delighted to have captured our second signing of the close season, by bringing Jakob to the club," chief executive Tony Scholes told the club's official website.
"He is a goalkeeper that has been admired from afar by our first-team management for some time now so naturally we are pleased to have been able to conclude the deal.
"With Thomas Sorensen departing this summer, adding an additional goalkeeper to the squad had been highlighted as something of a priority for us."
With regards to Begovic, the Bosnian custodian has recently been linked with the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool.
