Scottish League One roundup: Stenhousemuir fail to keep pace with Rangers

Stenhousemuir's dramatic 5-4 defeat and Ayr United's draw see Rangers top of Scottish League One.

Stenhousemuir were unable to draw level with Rangers at the top of Scottish League One as they were dramatically beaten 5-4 at home by Dunfermline Athletic.

John Gemmell and Ross Smith got the hosts off to a perfect start and despite leading with time running out, the Pars hit three goals in the last 10 minutes to ensure three points for the visitors.

The only other unbeaten side in the division after Rangers, Ayr United, lost their own perfect record as they could only draw 1-1 at Stranraer.

Brechin City recorded their second league win of the season with a 2-1 victory over Forfar Athletic, thanks to strikes from Craig Molloy and Alan Trouten.

Two first-half goals saw East Fife won their first game of the season, beating Arbroath 2-1.

Results in full: Brechin City 2-1 Forfar Athletic, East Fife 2-1 Arbroath, Stenhousemuir 4-5 Dunfermline Athletic, Stranraer 1-1 Ayr United.
