Gareth Bale named in Wales squad for World Cup qualifiers

Gareth Bale is named in the Wales squad for their World Cup qualifiers against Macedonia and Serbia next month.

Gareth Bale has been included in the Wales squad for next month's World Cup qualifiers with his club future still up in the air.

The prolific winger currently remains a Tottenham Hotspur player, but reports have claimed that he is edging closer towards a switch to Real Madrid.

Wherever he ends up by the close of the transfer window on September 2, Wales manager Chris Coleman has added him to his squad to face Macedonia and Serbia on September 6 and September 10 respectively.

Bale has not competed for Spurs so far this season, and he was left out of the Wales team to play the Republic of Ireland in a friendly earlier this month due to a foot injury.

Wales squad:

Goalkeepers: Wayne Hennessey (Wolverhampton Wanderers - on loan at Yeovil), Glyn Myhill (West Bromwich Albion), Owain Fon Williams (Tranmere Rovers).

Defenders: Ben Davies (Swansea City), Neal Eardley (Birmingham City), Danny Gabbidon (Crystal Palace), Chris Gunter (Reading), Adam Matthews (Celtic), Sam Ricketts (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Neil Taylor (Swansea City), Ashley Williams (Swansea City).

Midfielders: Andy King (Leicester City), Joe Ledley (Celtic), Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal), Jonathan Williams (Crystal Palace), Joe Allen (Liverpool), Jack Collison (West Ham United), Andrew Crofts (Brighton & Hove Albion).

Forwards: Sam Vokes (Burnley), Craig Bellamy (Cardiff City), Simon Church (Charlton Athletic), Hal Robson-Kanu (Reading), Gareth Bale (Tottenham)
