Winger Shaun Wright-Phillips has stated that he wishes to stay at Manchester City next season.

The 29-year-old is entering the final year of his contract at City and has been linked with moves away from Eastlands. Spurs and Bolton have shown particular interest.

However, the England international, who scored a long-range effort in last night's 2-1 friendly win over Vancouver Whitecaps, is determined to show in pre-season he deserves to stay at City.

"I'm working hard and I have no intention of going anywhere else," Wright-Phillips told The Sun.

"If they want to keep me I want to be here. That would be my ideal scenario and I've told the manager that."

Blues Boss Roberto Mancini has admitted he that has been impressed by Wright-Phillips during their tour of North America.

"Shaun played very well and I hope this year can be a good year for him," said Mancini.

"He is a good guy and every time I need to choose a player it is very difficult."

Wright-Phillips struggled to establish himself in Mancini's plans last season, making only seven league appearances.
