Andre Villas-Boas refuses to comment on the future of Gareth Bale due to continued speculation surrounding Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has refused to comment on the future of winger Gareth Bale.

The Welshman has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer, but his manager is growing tired of the speculation.

He revealed that Spurs will liaise with the Welsh FA ahead of next week's friendly against the Republic of Ireland, for which Bale has been called up despite missing some of his side's pre-season through injury.

"The only thing I can say about the stories is I am not going to comment because everybody has speculated a lot," Villas-Boas told reporters.

"There are some different stories, some which are not true, with people inventing without knowledge of what's going on. The only thing I can tell you is the player is under the treatment of the medical department for this pain in the foot.

"He has been called up for the national team, our medical department is going to be in contact with the Wales medical department to make sure they have everything available."

Spurs drew 1-1 with Espanyol today without the injured Bale.
