Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld has reportedly informed the club of his desire to leave this summer.
The Belgium international has established himself as one of the Premier League's leading centre-backs since joining Spurs from Atletico Madrid and has now featured 200 times for the capital side in the top flight.
Alderweireld struggled to hold down a regular spot for the 2020-21 campaign, though, as he started 25 of his side's 38 Premier League games and has since been linked with a return to former club Ajax.
Now, The Athletic reports that the centre-back has told Spurs that he wants to seek pastures new this summer, and he is hopeful of being granted his wish when Belgium's Euro 2020 campaign concludes.
The report adds that Spurs are expected to sanction a sale for the right price, as new director of football Fabio Paratici has his sights set on a swoop for Jules Kounde or Joachim Andersen, while Conor Coady has also been linked following the arrival of Nuno Espirito Santo.
Alderweireld has featured 236 times for Tottenham in all competitions and played the full 90 minutes in Belgium's 1-0 Euro 2020 last-16 win over Portugal last weekend.
