Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly weighing up a move for Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey.
The Jamaica international was a key player for the Bundesliga outfit during the 2019-20 campaign, chalking up seven goals and three assists from 33 appearances across all competitions.
While Bailey is contracted to Leverkusen until 2023, the 23-year-old - a close friend of Raheem Sterling - allegedly has his heart set on a move to the Premier League in the near future.
According to Sky Sports News, Tottenham have taken a liking to the Leverkusen forward and could move for Bailey before the window closes, although the German side are demanding a fee of €45m (£40m), which is proving to be a stumbling block.
Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho has let it be known that he intends to sign a new out-and-out striker to provide backup and competition to Harry Kane, and with that in mind, the report suggests that Leverkusen will have to lower their asking price for Bailey if Spurs are to lodge a bid.
Everton are also believed to be keeping a close eye on developments surrounding Bailey's future.
