Report: Tottenham Hotspur want Fabio Coentrao

Tottenham Hotspur reportedly prepare a move for Real Madrid left-back Fabio Coentrao.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Real Madrid defender Fabio Coentrao.

Madrid have been chasing Spurs star Gareth Bale for the majority of the summer, but Tottenham will move for the Portuguese left-back regardless of whether the Welshman leaves for Santiago Berneabeu, according to The People.

Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas is understood to be a long-term admirer of the stylish full-back, and it is thought that Coentrao could be available for around £13m.

Meanwhile, a recent report claimed that Spurs will move for Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, if Bale leaves Madrid for a world record-breaking £100m.
