Harry Redknapp has insisted that Dimitar Berbatov and Emmanuel Adebayor would not make a good strike partnership for Aston Villa.
The Togo international has been heavily linked with a move to Villa Park, while the Bulgarian, who is available on a free, is also thought to be on Tim Sherwood's target list.
Redknapp, who signed Adebayor during his spell as Tottenham Hotspur manager, told Kicca.com: "I heard Dimitar Berbatov is rumoured to be a target for Aston Villa and he's a fantastic talent. But I wouldn't see Tim Sherwood pairing him with Adebayor. I'd be surprised if Tim paired the two of them together to be honest.
"Berbatov's a real talent, he needs people that are going to be running in behind him because he's going to come short for the ball. Adebayor's not going to do that, he likes it into feet as well."
Adebayor has struggled for playing time in recent seasons under Andre Villas-Boas and Mauricio Pochettino, but went on a run of eight goals in 10 appearances during Sherwood's spell in charge at White Hart Lane.
