Manchester City have reportedly identified Bayer Leverkusen striker Patrik Schick as an alternative to Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane ahead of the January transfer window.
The 25-year-old was a standout performer for the Czech Republic at Euro 2020 and finished the competition as the joint-top goalscorer with five strikes to his name.
Schick has continued his impressive form with the Bundesliga outfit this campaign, netting 16 goals in just 13 league appearances, including eight strikes in his last three matches.
According to Fichajes, Man City are closely monitoring Schick and will consider making an approach to Leverkusen if they fail once again in their pursuit of Kane.
The report adds that the Citizens will face competition from Juventus and Borussia Dortmund, with the latter identifying the Czech international as a replacement for Erling Braut Haaland should he leave the club in 2022.
Schick – who has previously played for Sparta Prague, Sampdoria, RB Leipzig and Roma – has a contract at the BayArena until June 2025, and Leverkusen are currently under no pressure to sell their star striker.
