Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio has revealed that talks did take place with Tottenham Hotspur regarding defender Milan Skriniar.
With Jose Mourinho supposedly looking to shore up his backline before the transfer window closes, Skriniar has been tipped to make the switch to North London.
The 25-year-old has established himself as a key player at Inter under Antonio Conte - making 42 appearances across all competitions last term - and Ausilio has revealed that a hands-off warning was issued to Spurs in a meeting with the Lilywhites.
Speaking to DAZN, Ausilio said: "I will not confirm any negotiations for Skriniar. There was a meeting with Tottenham, that is true, but we simply reiterated that Skriniar is not on the transfer market.
"We've already released Diego Godin from the defence and cannot think of losing Skriniar too."
Skriniar is under contract at I Nerazzurri until 2023, and the Slovakia international was an unused substitute in Inter's 4-3 victory over Fiorentina on Saturday evening.
