Barcelona are reportedly interested in negotiating a swap deal involving Memphis Depay and Tottenham Hotspur defender Sergio Reguilon.
The Catalan giants are on the brink of making their fifth major signing of the summer with Jules Kounde ready to leave Sevilla for Camp Nou.
Completion of that deal will leave Barcelona committing to a further substantial outlay at a time when their financial issues have been well documented.
However, the La Liga outfit are keen to reduce their wage bill before the end of the summer transfer window, a number of players said to feature on a list of potential outgoings.
Depay is known to be available having fallen down the pecking order under Xavi with Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski having made the switch to Catalonia.

If reports are to be believed the Netherlands international is only interested in signing for a club of his choosing, rather than feeling obliged to take an opportunity to earn regular first-team football elsewhere.
According to Spanish journalist Gerard Romero, the playmaker could be given a decision to make over whether he wishes to link up with Spurs over the coming weeks.
Barcelona are allegedly considering whether to propose a swap deal involving Depay and Reguilon, who is no longer first choice at the Premier League side.
Any agreement has the potential to be made difficult due to Reguilon having previously represented Real Madrid, with Los Blancos also possessing a buy-back clause.

Nevertheless, it appears that Barcelona would be prepared to sign the left-back as they look to bring in further competition for Jordi Alba.
While Marcos Alonso has been a long-term target, it may make more sense to Barcelona if they are able to offload players at the same time as any arrivals.
The report adds that a proposal is only regarded as a possibility as of now, rather than any approach for Reguilon being imminent.
Depay has a year remaining on his Barcelona contract, while Reguilon's terms with Spurs last until the end of the 2024-25 campaign.
