Real Madrid have reportedly identified Massimiliano Allegri as a potential replacement for Zinedine Zidane, should the Frenchman stand down as head coach at the end of the campaign.
Zidane has a contract at the Bernabeu until the end of next season, but it has been suggested that the former midfielder could walk away from Los Blancos this summer.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the 48-year-old will not make a final decision until the end of the campaign, but Real Madrid are currently looking at potential replacements.
Romano claims that Allegri is on a three-man shortlist, with the 53-year-old seemingly keen to return to management for the 2021-22 season.
Allegri, who has also recently been linked with the Tottenham Hotspur job, has been without a position since leaving Juventus in May 2019.
The Italian led the Old Lady to five Serie A titles and four Coppa Italia crowns during his time in Turin.
