Tottenham Hotspur hammer Celtic

Tottenham Hotspur hammer Celtic 6-1 in their pre-season friendly on Saturday afternoon.

Tottenham Hotspur continued their pre-season preparations with a convincing 6-1 win over Scottish champions Celtic on Saturday afternoon.

Harry Kane got the ball rolling on six minutes when he converted smartly after great work from Andros Townsend, and the lead was extended minutes later through Roberto Soldado.

The Spanish striker coolly finished past Craig Gordon after his initial effort was blocked inside the penalty area.

Celtic pulled one back through Jamie Lindsay just before half time, but the lead was widened almost immediately through Lewis Holtby.

Erik Lamela made it four for Spurs just after the hour mark when he cut in from the right before finding the net with his favoured left foot.

A bad week got worse for the Bhoys as Emmanuel Adebayor's late penalty followed Christian Eriksen's 83rd-minute strike.
