Tottenham Hotspur boss Tim Sherwood: 'Everton clash is very important'

Tottenham Hotspur boss Tim Sherwood believes that their clash against Everton could prove pivotal in the race for fourth.

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Tim Sherwood has insisted that his side need to get the most out of this Sunday's "important" fixture against Everton.

Both clubs are vying for a Champions League spot this season, with just one point currently separating the sides in the Premier League table.

"It's important because it's the next one and it's a team who are in and around us," Sky Sports News quotes Sherwood as saying.

"I think possibly the team who finishes fourth will be the one who takes the most points off the teams in and around them, and that includes Everton.

"It's very, very important and I'm glad that the players think it's as important as I do because they'll be reminded that it is a crucial game and it could be a springboard for us to go on a nice run again."

Spurs, who will host the Toffees this weekend, currently sit sixth in the standings, while Everton reside just above them in fifth.
