Southampton's head of recruitment to join Tottenham Hotspur?

Southampton's head of recruitment Paul Mitchell is reportedly close to leaving the club and reuniting with Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham Hotspur.

Southampton's head of recruitment Paul Mitchell has reportedly told the club of his intentions to leave amid rumours that he is close to joining Tottenham Hotspur.

The 33-year-old, who has been at St Mary's for the last three years, is likely to be reunited with coach Mauricio Pochettino, who left Southampton for White Hart Lane last summer.

According to the Daily Echo, Mitchell has informed the Premier League club about his desire to leave, but the Saints hierarchy have no concerns that his departure will affect the running of their recruitment team.

Southampton are currently second in the Premier League table, four points behind leaders Chelsea after 11 games.
