Tottenham Hotspur to bring in Southampton's Paul Mitchell?

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy reportedly wants to bring in Southampton's head of recruitment Paul Mitchell to lead a major overall of Mauricio Pochettino's Spurs squad.

Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy reportedly wants to bring in Southampton's head of recruitment Paul Mitchell to work alongside Mauricio Pochettino.

Levy is believed to be incensed with the attitude shown by many of the Spurs players in a 2-1 home defeat to Stoke City on Sunday which left them 12th in the Premier League table.

According to the Daily Mail, the 52-year-old has made it clear that there will be a major squad overhaul and wants Mitchell to rekindle his St Mary's relationship with Pochettino and help lead the recruitment drive.

Mitchell, who played for Wigan Athletic and MK Dons before retiring in 2009, has been credited for Southampton's shrewd summer signings of Graziano Pelle and Dusan Tadic among others.

The 33-year-old would not have to answer to Tottenham's technical director Franco Baldini in the role that Levy has reportedly earmarked for him, but the Saints will fight to keep hold of their prime talent spotter.
