Spurs boss Harry Redknapp believes that Newcastle are still very much in the race for a Champions League sopt.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has expressed his belief that Newcastle are still contenders for a top-four spot this season.

The Magpies have won their last four games, leaving them just three points away from fourth-placed Spurs, and Redknapp believes that the league's surprise package could still clinch a Champions League place.

"Newcastle are bang in with a chance. They've had an terrific season and Alan [Pardew] has done an amazing job," said the veteran manager.

"Newcastle might say they are not Champions League material but as far as we are concerned they are in the thick of it. They have got to be top four contenders when you get to this stage of the season and they are in their position. We certainly consider them to be rivals.

"They have been under the radar really until now but they have a good squad up there and Alan Pardew has done a fantastic job. They are not up there by luck."

Tottenham's next match will be against Norwich City later today, while Newcastle will take on Bolton Wanderers.
