Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino claims that this season's Premier League title race could go to the final weekend of the campaign.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has branded this season's Premier League "tough and competitive" and claimed that the race for the crown could go to the final weekend of the campaign.

Spurs challenged Leicester City in the final months of last season, but ultimately fell short as Claudio Ranieri's side incredibly lifted the title against all odds.

This weekend, Tottenham will welcome Leicester to White Hart Lane in the league, but Pochettino does not believe what occurred last season will have a bearing on the outcome of the match.

"It is a different season and a different situation," Pochettino told reporters. "We need to learn every day and try to be better in every competition we play, but I cannot tell you that we are learning from the game a few months ago.

"It is a very competitive season and there a lot of teams that are fighting to be on top of the table. This season will be tough and competitive. Maybe we need to wait until the last game to see which club will win the Premier League."

Tottenham currently sit fifth in the Premier League table on 19 points - one point behind the leaders Manchester City.
