Former Spain boss Luis Enrique reveals that he is eyeing a Premier League job amid links with the vacant managerial position at Tottenham Hotspur.

Former Spain boss Luis Enrique has admitted that he would like to manage in the Premier League amid links with Tottenham Hotspur.

Enrique has been out of work since he left his position as Spain head coach following La Roja's last-16 exit at the 2022 World Cup.

The 52-year-old previously managed Barcelona B, Roma and Celta Vigo, before going on to coach the first team at Camp Nou.

In his three years as Barcelona boss, Enrique won nine trophies, including two La Liga titles, a Champions League, a UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup.

Enrique is one of a number of managers that have been linked with the Spurs job following Antonio Conte's departure.

The Spaniard has opened the door to managing a Premier League side, but he also insisted that he would not join just "any" club.

"I follow above all the Premier [League] because I would like to go to England to work," told La Ser Gijon on Wednesday.

"I wouldn't go to any team but to one that could do important things, which greatly reduces the number. I don't put my hopes up, really, because there are many candidates."

Enrique went on to insist that he is in no rush to return to management and denied speculation linking him with the vacant Brazil job.

"I am lucky because my personal life fills me up," he added. "That it takes longer, that no offers arrive, well, it is what it is.

"I would go to a team with possibilities. That doesn't mean that I wouldn't work in Spain.

"There are several national teams that are looking for a manager. I don't think I have the profile to guide a national team like that of Brazil.

"No one from Brazil has contacted me. I've had offers from national teams but not from clubs. I don't rule it out. It would have to be a very, very powerful national team for me to accept."

Enrique is one of several names that have been mooted as potential successors for Conte, with Julian Nagelsmann and Mauricio Pochettino also believed to be in the running.

A recent report claimed that former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has emerged as a potential candidate for the Tottenham job.
