Erik Lamela keeping "feet on the ground" after opening Argentina account

Erik Lamela insists that he will keep his feet on the ground after scoring his first goal for Argentina.

Erik Lamela has insisted that he is not getting ahead of himself after opening his goalscoring account for Argentina last week.

Tottenham Hotspur's record-signing took advantage of a rare start for Argentina by scoring in a 4-2 victory over Germany, but he is hoping that the impressive display is just the start of an extended run in the team.

"I'm happy because it was my first goal for Argentina and even happier because we won the game," Lamela told Tottenham's official website. "It's one goal, it was special, but it's just one goal and I will keep my feet on the ground.

"To win 4-2 against Germany, the world champions, is a special result. It was great to be part of it."

Lamela will be back in action for Spurs when they take on Sunderland this Saturday.
