Tottenham Hotspur striker Jermain Defoe insists that he is not concerned by Emmanuel Adebayor's return to the squad for the first time in a month.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Jermain Defoe has insisted that he is used to the pressure of competing for a first-team place as Emmanuel Adebayor returns against Aston Villa on Sunday.

The England forward has excelled in Adebayor's absence by scoring four times, and although Adebayor featured regularly in the starting lineup last season, Defoe has insisted that he is happy about Adebayor's return.

Defoe said: "For me, him being back is not a problem.

"You get pressure your whole career. There has always been pressure - it is something you get used to."

Tottenham are currently in fifth place in the Premier League table.
