David Bentley to return to Tottenham Hotspur due to ankle injury?

David Bentley could reportedly return to Tottenham Hotspur early after picking up an ankle injury while playing for Russian loan side FC Rostov.

Tottenham Hotspur winger David Bentley may be forced to return to the club after picking up an ankle injury during his loan spell at FC Rostov.

The 28-year-old joined the Russian outfit on a temporary deal after falling out of favour at White Hart Lane.

It is understood that Bentley could return to England if scans on his ankle prove the injury to be serious, according to the Daily Mail.

Bentley, who has made five appearances for Rostov so far, comes to the end of his loan agreement in January.
